With over 35 years in financial services as an advisor, James M. (Jim) Farmer has served clients since 1984. He focuses his experience on helping individuals and families address their financial and estate plans, with the goal to provide investment management strategies to grow and preserve their assets.
Prior to joining First Investment Services in 2010, Jim managed his own financial services firm for over 20 years. Throughout his career, he has provided clients not only with custom financial plans, but with the hands-on education and guidance to ensure they truly understand the strategies in place.
A graduate of Truman State University, Jim holds his FINRA Series 6, 7, 22, 24, 26, 63, & 65 securities registrations with LPL Financial. The American College has granted the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations to him. Actively involved in his community, he serves on the Mendon Unit 4 School Board. Jim and his wife Janell live on a small farm near Fowler, Illinois. In his free time, Jim enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing at the Lake of the Ozarks.
